Our Sincere Apology

We are posting this today with a deep sense of regret to inform you that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Mary Jane Jog scheduled for October 27th. We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause, and we want to extend our sincerest apologies to all of you. We had envisioned a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie, and it pains us that we cannot deliver on that promise this year.

The decision to cancel the event was not made lightly, and we fully understand the time, effort, and anticipation that you have invested in preparing for the Mary Jane Jog. We recently received notice that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office decided to no longer support the event due to the nature of the services we are promoting. Without their support, we are unable to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our participants, volunteers, vendors, and the community at large.

What is most regrettable is the missed opportunity for the community to come together to aid V for Victory in their mission of providing support to local families affected by cancer. But as the V for Victory also stands for solidarity, resistance and never giving up we will continue to bring awareness to the community on the benefits of cannabis and alternate medicines.

We will be issuing full refunds to all registered participants and vendors over the next few days.

We would like to extend an invitation to partner in our Charity 5k Fun Run to expand awareness of the vast benefits of natural medicine. We would like to add any charitable organization that deals with qualifying medical conditions to our partner list for the event from which race participants can choose to donate a portion of their admission fee to.

In return, we ask that you share the race information with your community through emails and/or social media. Additionally, we are offering each charity that participates a booth at the start/finish area to share information about their organization.

Medical marijuana has little to no side effects and a safety profile that is hands down better than most over the counter medications. We firmly believe that it will become first line therapy for many conditions soon and no longer be viewed as an alternative treatment.
